Super Eagles caretaker coach Augustine Eguavoen is optimistic Victor Boniface will end his goal drought for the against the Mediterranean Knights of Libya.
Boniface has established himself as one of the best strikers in the world since arriving Bundesliga club Bayer Leverkusen last summer.
The 23-year-old has however failed to replicate his club form at the international level.
The forward has made eight appearances for the Super Eagles without a goal to his name.
Eguavoen is now rooting for the former Bodo/Glint star to score in the team’s 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matchday three encounter against Libya.
“Victor Boniface has always been a part of this team and will continue to be a part of this team,” Eguavoen told reporters in Uyo.
” Yes, he is not finding the back of the net and I can assure you that if he starts tomorrow, he will score.
