Benin Republic captain Steve Mounie is optimistic the Cheetahs can record another famous victory over the Super Eagles.
The Cheetahs defeated the Super Eagles 2-1 at the Felix Houphet Boigny Stadium, Abidjan in June.
Gernot Rohr’s side will host their neighbours at the same ground in a 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying fixture on Thursday (today).

Mounie said they are capable of beating their neighbours again.
“I remember that in June, I gave them the example of my former club. When I was with Stade Brest, we were able to stand up to big teams in the French championship,” Mounie told a press conference.
” I told them that we could do the same thing against Nigeria. We are capable of looking them in the eye. That’s what we will have to do tomorrow (today). Be actors in this match and not just spectators.”
The game will kick-off at 8pm Nigeria time.
