The Super Eagles of Nigeria advanced to the final of the tournament after beating Bafana Bafana of South Africa 4-2 on penalties.

Nigeria holds the record for the highest number of appearances at the AFCON semi-finals, having played 15 times.

In a statement signed by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Communications, Stanley Nkwocha, Shettima said “Their performance throughout the tournament has been marked by exceptional talent, determination, and resilience, captivating the hearts of fans nationwide.”

As the Super Eagles prepare to replicate their 2013 victory at the finals on Sunday, Shettima said the nation stands united in support, eager to witness them etch their names in football history.

“The entire country awaits their return with bated breath, confident that they will deliver their best performance yet and bring the AFCON trophy home,” he stated.

At the instance of President Tinubu, the Vice President departed Abuja for Abidjan, the Ivorian capital, to lend the President’s support to the Super Eagles.
