African Games 2023: Flying Eagles Will Do Nigeria Proud In Ghana –Bosso

Coach of Nigeria’s U-20 national football team to the 2023 African Games – Accra 2023, Ladan Bosso, has assured that the Flying Eagles will give it their best shot to ensure that they make a podium finish in the men’s football event, Completesports.com reports

Bosso stated that the team has undergone serious training, and is raring to go and do the nation proud at the 13th African Games in Ghana adding that with God on the side of the team, a gold medal is realisable in the men’s football event.

“Although the competition is for Under-23 teams we chose to go with our under-20 squad because of time factor. It is a good development for our football as it will afford us the opportunity to prepare and access the boys for tasks ahead, like the WAFU Cup and U-20 qualifiers,” Bosso told Completesports.

“We know we are drawn in a tough group against the likes of Tunisia, Senegal, and South Sudan. We are confident that we shall qualify for the knockout stage and take it from there. It is not going to be easy but we don’t fear anybody.

Bosso who is also the chairman of the Nigerian Football Coaches Association added: “At the last U-20 World Cup against the likes of Brazil, and Argentina, where we were written off but we surprised the world by beating these football world powers.”

Flying Eagles are part of the Nigerian contingent expected to leave the country for Ghana on Tuesday, March 5 for the Games that will start on Friday, March 8, 2024.

The only time Nigeria won the African Games football gold medal was in the 1983 Games hosted by Nigeria. Bosso is optimistic that his boys can repeat that feat with prayers and support of

Nigerians.
