While anticipation builds for the fourth instalment of the popular heist series, there’s a significant shift. Vijay Krishna Acharya, director of Dhoom 3 and writer of Dhoom 1 and 2, will not return for this film. Ayan Mukerji is emerging as the top candidate to take over the director’s chair. It comes especially after receiving positive feedback from YRF regarding his work on War 2.
According to Bollywood Hungama, Aditya Chopra is reportedly impressed with War 2’s footage and has expressed interest in having Mukherji direct Dhoom 4. Although Ayan Mukherji is excited about the prospect, he manages several projects including his Brahmastra franchise alongside Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Jio Studios.

Ranbir Kapoor’s upcoming projects
On the work front, Ranbir Kapoor has just completed filming Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana alongside Sai Pallavi. They are scheduled to begin shooting Love and War with Vicky Kaushal in October 2024. Alia Bhatt is also expected to join the cast in December 2024. Additionally, Ranbir is also going to film Animal Park with Sandeep Reddy Vanga; another romantic film featuring Alia Bhatt.
