As Kylian Mbappé’s future continues to make headlines in Spain, it appears a solution to his future is getting closer.

After Mbappé’s decision to join Real Madrid was announced in the French media, details of his demands were leaked, and Caught Offside reports today that a deal in principle has been reached. Earlier this week, it was reported that Mbappé would demand €50 million gross per year, a signing bonus of €125 million and a percentage of his image rights to sign with Los Blancos.

On Wednesday evening, Cadena SER declared that the Merengue were ready to pay the same amount as for Jude Bellingham (105 million euros plus 30 million euros of variables), or 100 million euros plus variables. This source has not confirmed that Los Blancos will accept his salary demands, but they will cede part of his image rights to the striker, and the signing bonus is close enough to the latter’s demands that it seems likely that an agreement could be negotiated.

Mbappé, it’s very close

Rudy Galetti claims today that an agreement in principle has been reached for the Frenchman. Mbappe reportedly made a pact with PSG CEO Nasser Al-Khelaifi to inform him first of his decision, but the French giants are still trying to persuade him to stay. Discussions with Mbappé’s camp continue with a view to renewing his contract until 2027, but PSG now face an uphill battle. Real are eagerly awaiting the crack’s green light, then they will begin budgeting for their pursuit of Alphonso Davies this summer.

As most journalists have noted, every new piece of information has to be treated with caution these days, after the player’s shocking about-face in 2022. However, the general direction of things seems to be leading him towards the Santiago Bernabeu.
