NAFOWA President, Rakiya Abubakar
The Nigerian Air Force Officers’ Wives Association has partnered with the Office of the Chief of Air Staff to sponsor eye surgeries and screenings for more than 200 children of its members.
This initiative was announced by the NAFOWA President, Rakiya Abubakar, during an event in Abuja on Sunday, where 39 children were presented with free eyeglasses.
She noted that the decision to sponsor the screening of personnel’s children was part of efforts to add value and adequately care for their families.
Abubakar expressed gratitude to the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, for providing the necessary resources to support the initiative, calling it a significant step toward improving the well-being of Air Force personnel’s children.
“Finally, in the quest for excellence and continuous value addition, especially regarding the welfare of our members, we have proudly partnered with the Office of the Chief of Air Staff to conduct free optical screening and surgery for over 200 children of our members,” She said.
Abubakar, while presenting the eyeglasses to the beneficiaries, appreciated the Chief of Air Staff.
She said, “And as you can witness, we have provided optical lenses of different types to 39 of the beneficiaries. My unending appreciation goes to the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, Distinguished Flying Star, for providing the resources to actualize this initiative. “
