AJ Styles is widely regarded as one of the best pro wrestlers in the world by both fans and his peers. He is set to face LA Knight for a huge match on SmackDown next week and he sent a major warning to Knight after this week’s show.

The first match of the night showcased The Megastar LA Knight, who secured victory and advanced to next week’s match. In a separate bout, AJ Styles, Kevin Owens, and WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio all vied for the same opportunity. Ultimately, The Phenomenal One emerged victorious. Therefore, LA Knight and AJ Styles will now face each other to determine the #1 contender for Cody Rhodes’ title at the upcoming Backlash event.

WWE took to Instagram and uploaded a video of AJ Styles after SmackDown, where AJ Styles made a bold statement regarding his upcoming match against LA Knight. He expressed that the bout isn’t personal but necessary. Styles emphasized that he didn’t want WWE to hold him accountable for what he plans to do to LA Knight next week.

Styles reminded everyone of his previous promise to hurt Knight and noted that Knight had a limp the next day. Styles then warned that this time, the consequences could be more severe, stating, “Next time, we go to the hospital.”

”This isn’t personal, it’s necessary. I don’t want the WWE to hold me responsible for what I’m about to do to LA Knight next week. I said I was gonna hurt him before, and I guarantee you he had a limp the next day. Next time, we go to the hospital.”

His words set the stage for a high-stakes, intense showdown between the two competitors as they vie for the #1 contender spot for Cody Rhodes’ Universal Championship at Backlash.
