According to the report from the Vanguard, a group under the aegis of 21st century youths of Niger Delta and Agitators with Conscience (21st CYNDAC), declared that the Niger Delta people, whose resources have benefited the entire nation, will no longer tolerate the political marginalization of their leaders through underhanded political tactics.

They vowed to prevent a recurrence of the events that transpired during former President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration and asserted that the Niger Delta region will not remain passive in the face of what they perceive as a politically motivated campaign to remove individuals such as Senator Godswill Akpabio from power.

The group emphasized that any agenda targeting the Niger Delta and its people will be staunchly opposed and rejected by the region’s inhabitants.

The group said this in a statement by its Coordinator, Izon Ebi while reacting to the trending hashtag #AkpabiomustGo.

According to the group, “It should be on record that never again will the Niger Delta people whose resources are used for the benefit of all will allow our leaders to be politically sidelined through the dictates of underhand political brinkmanship. Affliction cannot repeat itself and we will not sit down and fold our hands for the Goodluck Ebele Jonathan playbook to be reactivated.

The fact that people are contacting youth and geo political organizations to join the trend of the Akpabio must go campaign is enough reason to know that the charade is politically motivated. The Niger Delta region and its people will never accept such evil agenda against the Niger Delta and its people anymore.”
