Mikel Arteta has been put right by Alan Pardew.

The former Newcastle United manager pointing out to the current Arsenal manager, his lack of class…

Mikel Arteta very grudging in his praise and/or (zero?) respect for Newcastle United following the excellent NUFC win at St James’ Park.

The Gunners’ boss making lame comments about how Newcastle United played AND won on Saturday.

Eddie Howe has now schooled Mikel Arteta three of four times at St James’ Park, when winning those three games by scoring five and conceded not a single goal.

The home Premier League wins in 2021/22, 2023/24 and 2024/25, the reality is that in each of the three Newcastle United victories, Eddie Howe set up in three very different ways against this Mikel Arteta Arsenal side.

If Arsenal had won at St James’ Park in May 2022 they would have finished top four and qualified for the Champions League, instead of Tottenham sneaking past them due to Newcastle United’s convincing 2-0 win.

Whilst Eddie Howe’s deserved win last season via that Anthony Gordon goal, worth pointing put that an extra three points on their total in 2023/24 would have seen Arsenal be crowned champions a point above of Man City.

I wonder what this season’s Newcastle United win at SJP against the Gunners will help deprive Arsenal of this time…?

Alan Pardew speaking to Talksport following Newcastle 1 Arsenal 0 – Saturday 4 November 2024:

“I was really upset with Mikel Arteta because, sometimes, he antagonises the media and antagonises the opposition.

“He came out with a line of ‘We were dragged into a game they wanted to play.’

“I have had that as a manager before.

“You have beaten a top team and then, suddenly, they are questioning your style and the way you have gone about the victory.

“There’s not a cast-iron beautiful way to win a game of football.

“You just need to win.

“Sometimes you don’t have to play a beautiful game to win it.

“You just have to be effective in what you do and the pressing and organisation from Newcastle was absolutely spot-on.

“Arsenal had only one shot on target.

“That is what Mikel Arteta should really question and not the opposition.”
