Just one day after scoring at Wembley in a memorable 2-1 FA Cup victory over Man City, Alejandro Garnacho has won the Premier League Goal of the Season award for 2023/24.

The teenager, 19, has enjoyed two seasons in the first team and is now recognised as one of Manchester United’s brightest talents for the future.

Garnacho’s iconic opening goal in the 3-0 win at Goodison Park last year has been named the league’s Goal of the Season after the same finish won Goal of the Month in November.

The Argentina international produced a sensational acrobatic finish in the third minute of the game.

Breathtaking. 😮‍💨

It was Diogo Dalot who provided the back-post cross, which allowed Garnacho to complete a mid-air finish despite having to run away from the goal.

After the Everton game, the 19-year-old seemed astounded by what he had achieved.

“I can’t believe it, to be honest,” Garnacho said, as per ManUtd.com. “I just did [it] and I didn’t see how I scored, I just listened around.

“I said: ‘Oh, my God’, and for me, of course, it was one of the best goals I have ever scored.”

With three other United players on the shortlist, Garnacho’s overhead kick against the Toffees was voted the Budweiser Goal of the Season. He becomes the first United player to win the award since its inception in 2016/17.

United’s starlet saw off competition from Kaoru Mitoma, Bruno Fernandes, Saman Ghoddos, Alexis Mac Allister, Oscar Bobb, Kobbie Mainoo, Marcus Rashford, Cole Palmer and Moises Caicedo.

The world is Garnacho’s oyster. His goal against Everton will go down as one of the best in Premier League history.
