Alex Shelley gets philosophical.
After last weekend’s television tapings in Philadelphia, reports indicated that Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin, collectively known as the Motor City Machine Guns, had finished up their runs with TNA Wrestling, for now at least. Last year, Shelley and Sabin inked new contracts with TNA for an undisclosed amount of time. Given these new developments, though, we now know the length of those contracts spanned one year. As such, Shelley and Sabin are expected to hit the free agency market on April 1.
Following the news of MCMG’s impending TNA departures, Alex Shelley posted a philosophical message to the X (formerly Twitter) platform.
“While things change, I want to express this – try to leave things better off than when you found them. Everyone is someone, treat them with respect, show up enthused, do your best, and help others whenever possible,” Shelley wrote. “I hope this isn’t too ‘Live, Laugh, Love’ wall art cringe.”

— @Lx $helley (@AlexShelley313) March 27, 2024As Shelley and Sabin soon enter the free agency market, they are expected to have multiple suitors. And while they likely appear to be headed elsewhere, the door for a potential TNA return has reportedly been left open.
Together, Shelley and Sabin crafted an impressive resume in TNA Wrestling’s tag team division, boasting three reigns as TNA/IMPACT World Tag Team Champions. Outside of their tag team ventures, Shelley and Sabin found individual successes as well. In the case of Sabin, he is a record-breaking ten-time X-Division Champion. For Shelley, he remains the third-longest reigning TNA World Champion in history, behind only Bobby Roode and Josh Alexander.
