Alexander Isak has made headlines again.

The Newcastle United striker nominated for the PFA Premier League player of the month, which for December 2024 performances.

Alexander is one of six nominees.

The other five are Antonee Robinson, Mo Salah, Cole Palmer, Morgan Gibbs-White and Deane Huijsen.

Newcastle United official announcement – 9 January 2025:

‘In-form Newcastle United forward Alexander Isak has been shortlisted for another award – the PFA Premier League Fans’ Player of the Month prize for December.

The Swedish international was in fine form last month, bagging eight goals and two assists in six league matches.

The 25-year-old netted in all six of his December appearances, beginning with a stunning strike in Newcastle’s thrilling 3-3 draw against Liverpool before scoring Eddie Howe’s side’s first goal in the defeat at Brentford.

Isak then registered a goal and assist in the 4-0 home win against Leicester City at St. James’ Park before becoming the first Newcastle player since Ayoze Pérez in 2019 to score a hat-trick after a clinical treble against Ipswich Town.

He rounded off the month, and the calendar year, with further goals against Aston Villa and Manchester United – and has continued his fine form into January, to make his record 14 goals from his last 15 Magpies appearances.
