“I have been a friend of Sacha’s for a long time. We spoke a lot about collaborating, and sometimes he sent me projects, and everything that we were talking about was comedy, and we always wanted to work together. And it was not until here that I offered (a role) to him. And he was like, ‘But why me? I’m not sure if I can do this.’ But I was certain that he could. I know how talented he is,” Alfonso told the Toronto Star.

He added, “And clearly Kevin is such a versatile actor because he has done, I mean, it’s incredible that he’s the same person who does Sophie’s Choice and The Big Chill. He’s the guy who’s smelling boots and talking Italian in A Fish Called Wanda. He’s completely mad and madcap, that whole thing. So I always saw him for his range, but he’s also approachable, with immense charm.”

Alfonso also said, “It sometimes tends to happen with some of these actors. They are dubious of their own talent, and I think it’s unquestionable, that talent in Sacha and Kevin, when you see what they did with these roles (in Disclaimer) and how courageous they were, the two of them.”
