Indeed, recruited in the summer of 2023 by the Brussels club from Lugano, the pocket attacker had demonstrated all his qualities by accumulating 21 goals and 7 assists in 45 matches with the Belgian team. An impressive record for the 24-year-old striker who was highly coveted this summer. And while his profile was linked to French, Spanish and English teams, it was ultimately in Germany and Wolfsburg that the native of Tahir set down his bags.

A bold choice with an ambitious Bundesliga team that aspires to regain its former glory. From then on, the Algerian international (27 caps, 6 goals) was keen to succeed on the other side of the Rhine, where his percussion and finishing qualities could wreak havoc. Obviously, all the ingredients were present for the fast Amoura to have a blast in Germany. Finally, after a complicated start and a muscle injury which kept him away from the field for many weeks, the Algerian found his cruising speed and is enjoying his time with Wolfsburg.

Mohamed Amoura is the co-best passer in the Bundesliga

In an explosive duo with Jonas Wind at the forefront of the attack, the player trained at ES Setif conquered Germany with his versatility and his ability to make differences. Even if he is less prolific this year, Amoura has turned into a smuggler and treats his teammates to caviar after caviar. With five assists on the clock, the Algerian is the joint-best passer in the Bundesliga with Harry Kane. A distributor of offerings who also broke a 15-year-old record in Germany by becoming the player who reached four assists the fastest in the German championship since Diego, former metronome of Werder Bremen, in 2004-2005.

Remarkable performances which arouse admiration among his teammates and the German public. Hailed by his trainer Ralph Hasenhüttl and compared to Douglas Costa by the German media because of his speed, Amoura makes everyone agree. However, the latter does not intend to stop there. For KickerAmoura explained that he intended to reach 20 goals this season with Wolfsburg: “20 goals is my wish. A goal or an assist? Both are good, but if so, I prefer to score.” A goal that could make Amoura one of the best players in the Bundesliga. Mohamed Amoura is establishing himself as one of Algeria’s offensive threats and could therefore continue after a high-flying start to the season.
