EXCLUSIVE: Leslie Morgenstein, founder and president of You producer Alloy Entertainment, is staying in business with Warner Bros. Television and has scored a new title.
Morgenstein has also been named Chief Creative Officer at Alloy, which has been part of Warner Bros. since 2012.
He previously signed a new deal in 2021.
In his time at Alloy Entertainment, Morgenstein has produced more than 900 hours of television, most recently Netflix’s You starring Penn Badgley, returning for its fifth season, and Max’s upcoming Pretty Little Liars: Summer School.
His previous television credits include executive producing both iterations of Gossip Girl, The Vampire Diaries and its spinoffs, The Originals and Legacies, the original Pretty Little Liars and The 100.
He also has produced three consecutive top films for Netflix including You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah, starring Adam Sandler and Idina Menzel, Purple Hearts, starring Sofia Carson and Nicholas Galitzine, and Work It, starring Sabrina Carpenter. His next film, the genre motion picture Tarot, will be released through Sony Pictures in May.
Alloy Entertainment is a books-to-TV and film company that is behind around 20 new books a year, which are then licensed to publishers. Morgenstein and his team, which also includes head of television Gina Girolamo and head of film Elysa Koplovitz-Dutton, then develop them as series and films.
Its latest project is The Davenports, which is based on Krystal Marquis’ bestselling YA novel, that is in the works at Amazon.
“I am thrilled to continue to work with the most amazing team at Alloy Entertainment as we look to build our next hits,” said Morgenstein. “I want to thank Channing and everyone at WBTV for their unwavering support.”
