Having barely arrived in the United States, Olivier Giroud finds himself on the verge of winning his first trophy in LA alongside Hugo Lloris.

Hugo Lloris was put through the wringer this winter, his former teammate in the French team Olivier Giroud joined him in California this summer, crossing the Atlantic to live the American dream in his turn.

The former Rossonero is making his first steps at LAFC in the Leagues Cup – a summer tournament that pits teams from MLS and Liga MX, the US and Mexican elites of football, against each other. With a final already to be played this Saturday.

Last night, the Los Angeles franchise thrashed the Colorado Rapids in the semi-final (4-0), not without a nice goal from former Saint-Etienne player Denis Bouanga. For the title, LAFC will face the reigning MLS champion, Columbus, who beat Philadelphia (3-1).
