AMC Entertainment has promoted Nikkole Denson-Randolph, who spearheaded the company’s successful distribution of Taylor Swift and Beyoncé concert films, to SVP and U.S. Chief Content Officer.

The exec’s elevation comes as worldwide programming head and Chief Content Officer Elizabeth Frank departs the company to become CEO of 3D tech firm RealD.

As part of the exec shuffle, Juan Antonio Gomez, Chief Partnership and Content Officer at AMC’s Odeon Cinemas Group, will lead all film and content programming outside the U.S.

Denson-Randolph will now oversee AMC’s U.S. film programming, content acquisition, and movie strategy initiatives, along with AMC’s studio and creative community relationships. She will be based in Los Angeles, reporting directly to AMC Chairman and CEO Adam Aron, and she will serve on AMC’s Executive Committee.

Gomez, who is based in London, will continue to report to Mark Way, President of AMC Europe & Managing Director of Odeon Cinemas Group. He will also continue to serve on the Executive Committee of Odeon.

Denson-Randolph has served in a variety of roles during a 16-year run at AMC Theatres, most recently as SVP of Content Strategy & Inclusive Programming. She spearheaded AMC Theatres Distribution’s concert films Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour and Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé and also oversaw the launches of initiatives like AMC Artisan Films and AMC Independent. Prior to AMC, she held the posts of Director of Business Development for Starbucks Coffee Company’s entertainment group, and President of Magic Johnson Entertainment.

Announcing the promotion, Aron said Denson-Randolph’s “vision, creativity, and unmatched expertise in the film industry have played a vital role in AMC’s success over the past 16 years. Her ability to identify diverse content, elevate unique cinematic voices, and innovate attendance-driving programs has positioned AMC as a leader in showcasing films that resonate with all audiences. She is highly respected internally at AMC and throughout the entertainment industry.”

He added his confidence that Gomez “will continue to apply his unique industry knowledge to programming our international screens. As I have scoured the movie theatre business across Europe, it has become very clear to me that no one matches Juan Antonio’s ability to get the job done well. Odeon is fortunate to have such a top-tier player in his key leadership role.”

Frank spent 15 years at AMC, nearly all of which were as the head of the company’s film programming and content department. When she began her tenure, AMC was the No. 2 theater operator in the U.S. and she steered it to the top position among worldwide exhibitors.

“We thank her for her dedication to AMC and are thrilled for her that she has been offered a CEO role, especially so because RealD is an important programming partner for both AMC and Odeon,” Aron said, noting that RealD auditoriums generated $145 million of AMC’s domestic box office in 2024.
