Landed this summer on loan, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg should be a long-term player at Olympique de Marseille.

The summer has once again been particularly eventful at Olympique de Marseille. As usual, the Marseille leaders wanted to renew their squad from top to bottom and nearly fifteen players arrived at the Ciel et Blanc, with great successes. This is obviously the case of Mason Greenwood, already the author of 6 goals in 8 matches, or of Geronimo Rulli, very prominent in goal.

But in midfield, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is not left out. Roberto De Zerbi was full of praise for him after the great victory won by OM in Montpellier (0-5) on Sunday.

“We are lucky to have these two players together at OM. They are two extraordinary, intelligent players with a very high level. They have a great personality and a lot of qualities”he said, referring to his association with Adrien Rabiot.

His final transfer on very good track

And Mehdi Benatia is not left out. “We are very happy to have him here in Marseille”he confided in the columns of the Swedish media Tipsbladetadding: “Pierre is one of the best, if not the best, player in Ligue 1 in terms of ball possession and successful passes, launched the former central defender. That says everything about his role on the pitch and as a leader in midfield. He is a natural leader and a good example for all his teammates, especially the younger players. We have a very young team and Pierre is essential for them to learn what it means to play football at such a high level. He is really important for Roberto De Zerbi. »

According to the Olympian sports director, the pleasure is shared and the Swedish player, on loan this summer from Tottenham, should sign for good at OM. “His transfer will soon become permanent”he assured, specifying: “Before his arrival, we had a lot of discussions with him and our president Pablo Longoria. Pierre told me that he had offers in Italy, England and other countries, but that if we found an agreement with Tottenham, it was in Marseille that he wanted to play. »
