Who are the players who complete the most dribbles per match in the major European championships? Only one Ligue 1 crack is in the top 10 and it’s not Ousmane Dembélé…

As the end of the season approaches, advanced statistics (collected by Opta and displayed on whoscored) present the best dribblers in Europe. These are the two Bayern stars Leroy Sané (3.6 dribbles) and Jamal Musiala (3.5 dribbles) who are the players who complete the most dribbles per match in the five major championships. Logical as the Munich team dominates its matches.

In the top 10, we find the twirling Mohammed Kudus (3.3 dribbles with West Ham), Jérémy Doku (3.2 dribbles with Manchester City), Vinicius Junior (2.9 dribbles with Real Madrid), Florian Wirtz ( 2.8 dribbles with Leverkusen) and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (2.8 dribbles with Napoli). Impactful players who all have excellent goal and assist stats (except maybe Doku).

Zhegrova and Del Castillo ahead of Dembélé

In this little game, only Losc left-hander Edon Zhegrova is part of the European top 10, with 2.9 successful dribbles per match for the Mastiffs starting from the right wing. The 24-year-old Kosovar international is doing a lot of good for Paulo Fonseca’s team (3 goals and 5 assists in Ligue 1) even though he could have been transferred last summer.

Romain Del Castillo (2.6 dribbles with Brest), the will-o-the-wisp of the surprising second in the French championship, and Ousmane Dembélé (2.5 dribbles with PSG), although accustomed to being at the top of this statistic, are respectively 12th and 18th on the Old Continent. Romain Faivre (2.6 dribbles with Lorient) is 13th but has not played much since his arrival at Bournemouth during the winter transfer window.
