The Real Madrid coach defended his Brazilian international at a press conference on Friday.

Real Madrid is a club regularly exposed to controversy, even at the start of the season. This is evidenced by the outcry caused by a message posted on Rodrygo’s Whatsapp channel after the match between the Merengue club and Mallorca (1-1).

“Last week they talked about the trio Bellingham, Mbappé and Vini, but to this acronym we will have to add the R for Rodrygo,” could be read on the Whatsapp channel of the Brazilian international, the only scorer for the Madrid team on the first day of La Liga. A message quickly removed.

Ancelotti defuses the controversy

Obviously, Carlo Ancelotti could not escape a question about this subject in the press conference. “I spoke to him this week and asked him if something had happened. He told me that he had not posted the message, that it was false. I have no problem with him, he is very happy here, he works very well, he was one of the best against Mallorca”explained the Italian technician.

On Sunday, at 5pm, Real Madrid will host Valladolid for the second day of the Spanish championship. A match where Kylian Mbappé’s performance will once again be scrutinized, knowing that the captain of the Blues was heavily criticized after the match in Mallorca.
