Andrade’s time in AEW is apparently over, and many expect him back to WWE. That time away from the company, and the road to get him back was quite an experience.

Sean Sapp reported behind Fightful’s paywall that Andrade’s initial contract with AEW spanned two years, but due to injury time being added, it was extended, ultimately keeping him signed through the end of the year. AEW talent reportedly said that Andrade was transparent about his contract status, indicating that it would conclude in or at the end of 2023.

Andrade El Idolo initially expressed intentions to stick with AEW and even consider another contract. That being said, towards the end of his tenure, he informed fellow wrestlers that he was heading back to WWE.

Andrade has finished up with All Elite Wrestling and has an agreement with WWE. The path there was a rollercoaster.

“We’re told that Andrade’s original deal was only for two years, but there was injury time added that extended it that ended up with him being signed through the end of the year. AEW talent said that Andrade was often very open about his contract status, and that his deal would be up in or at the end of 2023. Numerous talent also said that he’d mentioned that he’d planned to stay with AEW, and was considering another  but by the end of his run had told wrestlers he was headed back to WWE. Several in AEW actually expected him to show up on WWE programming the week after he left AEW.”

Some within AEW anticipated Andrade Eli Idolo’s appearance on WWE programming the week following his departure from AEW. That hasn’t happened yet but he very well may make his big return very soon.

Andrade was spotted alongside Charlotte Flair as she recovered from her surgery, they were at home, and having a good time all things considered.
