Ivan Toney appears to have no long-term future at Brentford; when the summer transfer market opens in 2024, the attacker will likely try his luck at another team.

The Bees’ dismal performance this season makes it impossible to rule them out of the relegation struggle.

Several Premier League teams have expressed interest in signing the striker, who was handed an eight-month suspension after being found guilty of breaking Premier League betting regulations. It appears that Chelsea and Arsenal are keen to sign him.

And now, former Manchester United great Andy Cole believes the attacker will thrive in the current Red Devils squad because he absolutely fits in there.

Additionally, he believes Rasmus Hojlund will benefit from competition from the seasoned forward, which will accelerate his growth.

The former Premier League player expressed his opinions and advised the striker to pick United in his most recent interview with The Winners Enclosure (via The Sun). He said:

“I like Ivan, and if he came to Manchester United, would he do a job? Absolutely, he would. Rasmus Hojlund is still a young man, so it’s all down to whether the club is prepared to bring in an older striker that can help him out at this stage.’’

A seasoned striker like Toney doesn’t need time to get used to the league. He has sufficient expertise to blend in with any English team.

He returned after an eight-month break and immediately began to dominate. He obviously has a natural instinct for finding the back of the net.

Due to their adaptability to any situation, strikers such as Toney prove to be useful for their teams. He has scored four goals in the league already since his return.

The competition to sign him in the summer is going to get fierce with numerous Premier League club interested in him.
