Tottenham will be looking to take another big step this summer towards the top of the Premier League table and Ange Postecoglou has admitted that the North London club knows who they need to buy.
Spurs made some very important signings last summer and in January, bringing in the likes of James Maddison, Micky van de Ven and Guglielmo Vicario – all of whom have had a big impact on Tottenham’s season.
Ahead of the upcoming transfer window, Postecoglou was asked by the press on Friday if a place in the Champions League next season influences their summer plans.
The Spurs coach stated that the North London club already know what they need for the 2024/25 campaign and that nothing will change over the coming weeks.
“I doubt our off-season plans in terms of strengthening the team will change markedly from where we are now,” Postecoglou said via Fabrizio Romano.
“We know what we need. We know the areas we need to strengthen… that won’t change.”
Ange Postecoglou knows what he needs at Tottenham next season
What do Tottenham need for the 2024/25 campaign?
Tottenham have a very strong team at present and it looks like the North London club will make the Champions League next season, following their impressive 4-0 hammering of Aston Villa last weekend. Spurs are only two points off of the Birmingham club but have a game in hand.
The main area Postecoglou will want to strengthen is the striker role. The Premier League club lost Harry Kane to Bayern Munich last summer and never replaced the England star. Richarlison and Son have played the position this season but a proper number nine could take Spurs to a new level.

The North London club are also light in midfield so another player would be required this summer. The weaknesses in this area were seen when AFCON was being played so Postecoglou is likely to bring in another body.
Overall, Tottenham have a good squad and all that is needed outside of these two positions are backups that can fill in when unforeseen circumstances arise throughout the campaign.
