The “Queen Slayer” Anna Jay finished up her STARDOM excursion on the final night of the 5 Star Grand Prix 2024 tournament. She successfully defeated Momo Kohgo in her last match in Japan before returning to AEW. After the match, Anna spoke to the members of the backstage press to comment on her experiences working with the women of STARDOM throughout the tournament.
Anna Jay expressed feeling a mix of emotions following her STARDOM run. She says that competing against the joshi wrestlers was the most challenging experience in her career thus far. She also praised the STARDOM competitors and acknowledged that the matches have been a significant learning experience for her despite not being on their experience level. Anna then addressed the AEW locker room saying that she is putting them on notice as she feels the best she has ever been following her matches in Japan.
Her final opponent, Momo Kohgo, also commented on their match. She said that they had a lot in common as they started wrestling around the same time in 2019 and had to overcome severe injuries. She then offered to wrestle again sometime in the future whether as opponents or tag team allies.
AZM, whom Anna had previously worked with during AZM’s visit to AEW, wished for the two of them to team up someday. She also posted a photo on Twitter to officially bid Anna Jay farewell.
Anna Jay’s 5 Star Grand Prix experience
Throughout the past month, Anna Jay participated in STARDOM’s biggest annual tournament: the 5 Star Grand Prix. She competed in the Blue Stars A block and picked up victories over Koguma, Miyu Amasaki, and Sendai Girls World Champion Saori Anou. She accumulated a total of 6 points in the tournament.
