Chelsea player Mykhailo Mudryk challenged a fan to face him in a one-on-one match after being trolled on social media, with £10,000 on the line.

Mudryk, who has not been in great form of late, was prompted to respond on Instagram following Wednesday’s 4-1 defeat to Liverpool, after receiving a message asking him ” what the f*ck is going on with his bad form, and if he had “ forgot how to play football“. He was then advised to do more individual sessions because “something has to change”.

The winger did not take kindly to the criticism, calling out the supporter and challenging him to a lucrative game of one-on-one football. He wrote : “Come and play 1-1 (one on one). For £10,000.”

But the troll replied: “Brother, at this point, I will personally give you money every time you score a goal.” Like his team, Mudryk has experienced an alarming decline in form in recent matches. Chelsea are winless in their last three matches and have suffered damaging back-to-back defeats to Liverpool and Wolverhampton in the league, conceding eight goals.

The Blues, Mudryk and coach Mauricio Pochettino badly need to change the situation. The Ukrainian provided an assist in the defeat to Wolves, and he will hope to feature again in the FA Cup fourth round against Aston Villa on Wednesday, with the manager’s job potentially on the line.
