OM could sign another resounding blow on the transfer market this summer. With an Italian international in the sights according to the transalpine press.
Will the Pablo Longoria-Medhi Benatia tandem spark again this winter? The Italian newspaper La Repubblica in any case claims that OM intend to make a move on the other side of the Alps during the next transfer window. Roberto De Zerbi in fact would not be against poaching one of his former players – an attacker whose emergence he caused on the Sassuolo side.
“ Raspadori wants to play more and will therefore look for an exit in Januarynotes the transalpine media aroused. He was requested by Atalanta this summer and Cristiano Giuntoli
(the sporting director of Juve, editor’s note) always appreciated him, but he is difficult for the Azzurri (from Napoli, editor’s note)
to strengthen a direct competitor to the Champions League. The Marseille of Roberto De Zerbi, who knows Jack (the nickname of Giacomo Raspadori, editor’s note) since his time at Sassuolo, could finally win… »
Interesting versatility
After a successful final season at Sassuolo (10 goals and 5 assists in 36 matches), the 24-year-old Italian international (36 caps, seven goals) has not really confirmed in Naples since his transfer in the summer of 2022, confined to seven goals and five offerings in 68 appearances in Serie A under the Partenopei jersey. For five additional goals and three assists counting his 15 Champions League matches.
In this 2024-2025 financial year, under the orders of Antonio Conte, Giacomo Raspadori hardly plays (only four starts in all competitions) and no longer hides his desires elsewhere. His versatility – while the person concerned can play in the center as well as on the left flank, in a system with two or three attackers – would obviously be an asset for OM, whose winter priority however remains the reinforcement of the defensive corridors . Another downside, and not the least, the Azzurro is valued at 20 million euros by Napoli. A potentially crippling amount for the Olympians who have already spent a lot during the off-season.
