Bayern Munich are closing in on the signing of Desire Doue from Rennes, despite interest from Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United and Chelsea.

According to Sky Germany, Bayern are ahead of PSG in the race to sign Doué. Manchester United, Chelsea and Tottenham have also been linked with the 19-year-old, who has emerged as one of the most exciting wingers in European football.

Doué scored four goals and provided five assists last season in 31 Ligue 1 appearances, aged just 19. He is a French Under-23 international and is currently representing Les Bleus at the Olympics. According to Sky, he is keen to join Germany. He would cost around €60 million.

Gifted and not just a little

The virtuoso scored once at the Olympics and was up to the task at the Under-23 tournament. It remains to be seen whether Bayern will be able to strike a deal with Rennes, given the level of interest from other clubs.

Formal offers are likely to follow before the transfer deadline, with several top European clubs reportedly monitoring the wonderkid’s progress.
