Chelsea goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen had to be substituted during Denmark Under-21s’ victory over Czech Republic on Tuesday night, although the nature of the injury is unclear.

Jorgensen arrived at Stamford Bridge in a summer move from Villarreal and has made two appearances in the Europa Conference League but is still waiting for his Premier League debut.

The 22-year-old was called up by Denmark Under-21s over the international break and started in the 4-2 defeat to Iceland and the 5-0 victory over the Czechs.

However, late in the resounding win on Tuesday Jorgensen was replaced by Andreas Jungdal, with the Chelsea man unable to finish the game.

Denmark Under-21s boss Steffen Hojer admitted after the game that he wasn’t sure what the problem was but it was certainly bad enough to make a change.

‘I don’t really know. He’s being checked. I don’t know how bad it went, but it was certainly [bad] enough for him to go off,’ he said, via Campo.

‘I just asked if he was okay. He was annoyed that he had to go off, but hopefully it is not something that is really wrong.’

Chelsea return to Premier League action on Saturday with a trip to Bournemouth in the 8pm kick-off.

Jorgensen was unlikely to play anyway but his knock on international duty makes his chances of usurping Robert Sanchez in goal even less likely.

The Spaniard has started the Blues’ first three Premier League games of the season although he is yet to keep a clean sheet in defeat to Manchester City, a win over Wolves and draw with Crystal Palace.

Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca will be without right-backs Reece James and Malo Gusto for the trip to the Cherries, but is hoping to have Cole Palmer and Romeo Lavia available after fitness concerns.
