Ansu Fati is set to make his first La Liga appearance for Barcelona in 15 months this weekend.
Fati’s injury problems began to fade after the Spain international missed most of the pre-season due to yet another setback.
Despite offers to leave Catalonia ahead of the 2024/25 campaign, Fati has remained determined to stay at Barcelona, and that persistence is slowly being rewarded.
Fati returns to Osasuna
Hansi Flick has preached caution when it comes to recovery as he looks to avoid overloading Fati at a critical time in his career. He came on as a substitute in the 2-1 Champions League defeat to AS Monaco earlier this month to end his long wait and now it is time to reintroduce him to La Liga.
Flick included him in the squad to face Osasuna, and due to a busy schedule, the 21-year-old is expected to get some minutes in Pamplona. If he does, it will be a return to the scene of his first first team goal for Barcelona, as he set a record as the club’s youngest goalscorer in a 2-2 draw, which since been overtaken by Lamine Yamal.
