Anthony Bowens has laid out a challenge to baseball legend Jose Canseco.
The former baseball star has already been announced to be taking part in the Going Yard: Home Run Derby next month. The event takes place on October 5th at the Constellation Field, with a number of ex-pros and celebrities set to take part.
One of these that has not been called up yet is Anthony Bowens. The AEW star has taken it upon himself to be included, by calling out Jose Canseco in a scathing promo posted to AEW’s official Twitter account.
In the video, Anthony Bowens introduces himself as a former champion. He also notes how he has the most tag team wins in AEW history, only adding to his credentials.
The former tag team champion then challenges Jose Canesco to an unnamed challenge at the Home Run Darby next month. Bowens claimed that Canseco wouldn’t face him on Dynamite, so he’ll have to travel to Texas to take him on.
“Hello, Jose Canseco.” Anthony Bowens said. “I see a Tweet wasn’t enough, so I decided I’m going to send you a message personally. Let me introduce myself. My name is Anthony Bowens. I’m a former All Elite Wrestling Tag Team Champion. The longest-reigning Trios champion in the history of this the company. The most tag team wins in the history of AEW.”
“I am the scissor king, I am wrestling’s five-tool player, and I know you will never show up and fight me at AEW Dynamite. So I am issuing a challenge to you. October 5th, Sugar Land, Texas. Do you have the balls left over from the 90s to accept my challenge? I bet you don’t. Jose, it’s time to nut up, or shut up. Why? Because everyone loves the Acclaimed.”
