Anthony Gordon doesn’t hide – Speaks out to fans

Anthony Gordon and his teammates left wondering how they managed to come away from Goodison Park without the win.

They absolutely dominated Everton, who didn’t have a single corner, whilst United had ten.

Eddie Howe’s team with 42 touches in the Everton penalty area, whilst the home side a paltry 12 in Newcastle’s penalty area.

Two of those touches in the Everton penalty area were of course massive moments for Anthony Gordon in particular.

His poor penalty saved by our mackem mate, Gordon’s England teammate and former club one.

Then when Almiron played him through wonderfully in the second half, Anthony Gordon ran into the box at a slight angle and lashed his effort over the crossbar when he should have scored.

That is football.

Newcastle United would win that game of football at least 19 times out of 20, so dominant were NUFC as the away side.

This was the one in twenty and that is sometimes just the way it goes.

Sometimes the ball goes in the net, as it did last weekend against champions Man City, this time the ball didn’t against relegation fodder Everton.

Whatever the circumstances, Anthony Gordon doesn’t hide.

These are the players you want playing for you.

Anthony Gordon commenting via his own personal social media:

“A great performance, just couldn’t put them away, and that’s on me.

“Never easy missing but you’ll never ever see me shy away from stepping up for my team.

“Thanks to everyone that travelled – till next time.”
