Although the summer transfer window has only just ended, there’s still an element of uncertainty surrounding Anthony Gordon’s stay at Newcastle United.
It was extensively reported during the transfer window that Premier League giants, Liverpool, were interested in taking the player back to Merseyside, though as it turned out nothing transpired.
With confusion surrounding Gordon’s contract with the Magpies, it’s clear that this needs to be addressed if the club want to keep hold of the England international for the next few years.

That all appears to be in hand now, however, with inews (subscription required) suggesting that talks will soon be arranged with the player and his representatives to thrash everything out.
Gordon would be a brave man indeed to make to the move to Anfield given his previous Everton allegiance, though he wouldn’t be the first to make the switch across Stanley Park.
Eddie Howe will surely be hoping that it’s just a case of dotting i’s and crossing t’s in order to secure Gordon’s services and keep him from Liverpool’s clutches.
