Anthony Gordon has urged Marc Guehi to reject Arsenal and Manchester United and join him at Newcastle United if he decides to leave Crystal Palace this summer.
Both Arsenal and United have Guehi on their list of centre-back targets after the 23-year-old’s impressive season with Palace.
Newcastle have also been linked with Guehi, who is valued in excess of £55 million by Palace, and his England teammate Gordon says he ‘would love’ to see the centre-back at St James’ Park.
When asked about Guehi’s link with a move to Newcastle, Gordon told talkSPORT: ‘I haven’t actually seen the Newcastle links, but it goes without saying I’d absolutely love him to come because he’s a top player and he’d make us a better team.’
Guehi delivered another solid performance in England’s 1-0 win over Serbia in the Euro 2024 Group C opener on Sunday.
And Gordon has been impressed with the Palace defender’s composure when in possession.
‘He’s top, he’s such a good player and I was glad the nation got to see him shine on that stage because he’s such a lovely guy and he deserves what’s coming to him,’ Gordon said.
‘I thought he was unbelievable in that game [against Serbia] considering his height compared to the strikers they had on.
‘He won every header, he was aggressive, intercepting loads and his main strength is composure on the ball, he’s like a midfielder.
‘So him and Stonesy at the back, it’s a great partnership to control a game.’
