Touched by the emotion of a young spectator on Wednesday, during the clash between Atletico Madrid and Inter Milan, Antoine Griezmann launched an appeal on social networks.

Atletico Madrid had a dream evening on Tuesday. Or at least rich in emotions. Beaten 1-0 in the first leg by Inter Milan, the Madrid club secured their qualification at the end of a breathtaking scenario. First led by the visitors, the Colchoneros certainly quickly equalized but had to wait until the last moments of the match to score the goal which meant extra time.

And Atletico was not at the end of its emotions since the decision was finally made on penalties, Diego Simeone’s men being carried by a Jan Oblak in a state of grace. Enough to make the Wanda Metropolitano explode with happiness where some spectators could not hold back their tears. This is particularly the case of a young child whose emotion was captured by Spanish television cameras.

“I want to meet this child”

We see the crying boy falling into his father’s arms. Images that moved Antoine Griezmann. So much so that the former Barcelona player launched an appeal to find this young supporter. “I want to meet this child”, he wrote in the comments of a publication on Twitter relaying this sequence.

Author of the equalizing goal after a ball from Benjamin Pavard, Antoine Griezmann was also overwhelmed with happiness after the Madrilenians qualified. “In the league, we weren’t very good. In the Cup, we left a bad impression. There, at home, it was different. Our defenders were exceptional. It’s not their habit to press, to go one on one, but they did it today. We were a great team, he stressed at the microphone of Canal+. We had to play a match like that, be physically strong, respond and win duels, which we hadn’t done in the last league matches. We got into Champions League mode. We must continue at this pace.”
