Bournemouth forward Antoine Semenyo has revealed he watched Thierry Henry and Didier Drogba for inspiration during his formative years.
According to the former Bristol City man, the videos of the ex-Premier League stars was to help him improve his game.
The Ghana international is on course to register his most productive season in the English top flight after being involved in 10 league games so far.
The forward has been one of Bournemouth’s best performers this campaign thriving under Andoni Iraola.
He attributes his development over the years to watching the Frenchman and the Ivorian.
“It was actually one of the assistant coaches at the time at Bristol that suggested I should be watching a lot of clips from my idols. He suggested Embolo from Monaco. He felt like my play style is very similar,” he told Premier League TV.
“I watched him, Henry and Drogba for inspiration; movement, working on heading, just footwork, just those sort of things. I used my time watching them. I was out for three-four months. It was a lot of watching. I use the time wisely to watch them and included them to my game.”
After seeing their 11-game unbeaten run ended by Liverpool last weekend, Semenyo will hope he can help his side start a new run when they play Everton in the FA Cup this weekend.
