The Association of Professional Bodies of Nigeria has announced Prof Godwin Oyedokun as its Financial Secretary.
According to a statement, Oyedokun secured his new role after a fiercely contested election that saw him win over his rival by a wide margin.
He is to oversee the body’s financial responsibilities in the next two years. The APBN is an umbrella organization representing recognised professional institutions, associations, and institutes in Nigeria, with a mandate to promote cooperation among Nigerian professionals and ensure professionalism.
He brings to APBN over 22 years of cognate experience in practice and academics to enrich the body’s profile.
In his new capacity, Oyedokun will oversee APBN’s financial planning, reporting, control budgeting, and fund management, amongst others.
Oyedokun occupies a strategic role in not a few professional bodies, including the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria, the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, the Business Recovery & Insolvency Practitioners Association of Nigeria, and Association of Forensic Accounting Researchers, amongst others.
He has no fewer than 30 professional qualifications, 15 of which are international, in addition to over 15 degrees in the fields of management, finance, fraud, and forensic investigation.
Oyedokun has authored numerous publications and journals in his area of expertise, significantly contributing to the body of knowledge.
Commenting on his new role, Oyedokun pledged commitment to ABPN’s financial stability as well as actions that will engender long-term success.
“I am committed to working tirelessly to uphold the values and objectives of APBN and ultimately contribute to economic success”, he said.
