A Kano State Federal lawmaker, Alasan Ado Doguwa, representing, Tudun Wada Federal Constituency, on Sunday, stated that the All Progressives Congress in Kano will sweep the stakes at the forthcoming local government polls in the state.

Doguwa made the declaration while addressing his numerous supporters who assembled at his house in Kano on Sunday.

“Some of the reasons why we are confident in winning the Local Government elections, are that KANSIEC has no personal ballot boxes to use for voting purposes and that the voter lists they are relying on are those documented by the INEC.

“Therefore, since everything about the elections is not personal to the State Electoral Commission and the police who will be neutral, and other security agencies are not controlled by the state, we are confident that we will win the election,” he said.

According to Doguwa, most of the people in the 44 local government areas of the state are looking up to the APC to salvage them from their current unfortunate living conditions.

“So, we are going to win 40, if not all the 44 local governments during the forthcoming elections,” the lawmaker said.

Doguwa, who is also the Chairman House Committee on Downstream Petroleum, urged APC supporters in the state to conduct themselves peacefully before, during, and after the polls

“You should ignore provocations and concentrate on campaigning, highlighting issues, not personal vendetta, attacks, and slanderous statements. Show them that you are politically in charge and don’t allow them to distract you,” he charged the supporters.

The Kano State Independent Electoral Commission has slated October 26, 2024, for the conduct of the Chairmanship and Councillorship elections in the state.
