The All Progressives Congress (APC) has criticised Peter Obi, Labour Party’s (LP) presidential candidate from last year, calling him a “serial complainer” following his assessment of the outcome of the Edo governorship election.

The APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, made the statement during an Arise TV interview on Wednesday, accusing Obi of habitually rejecting election outcomes that do not favour him.

Obi, who contested against APC’s Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2023 presidential election, had previously filed a petition to nullify Tinubu’s victory. Following last Saturday’s governorship election in Edo State, where APC candidate, Monday Okpebholo, emerged victorious, Obi again condemned the process, labelling it a “blatant example of state capture” that undermines Nigeria’s democratic principles.

Obi warned that such flawed methods could have severe repercussions for the country and urged the authorities to address the issue.

However, Morka dismissed Obi’s comments as irrelevant.

“Peter Obi is a serial complainer who refuses to accept any election result that does not favour him or his candidates,” Morka stated.
