The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates have been declared the winner of all contested positions in Saturday’s Local Government elections in Kogi State.

Among those who emerged victorius is Ademola Bello, who secured the chairmanship of MopAmuro Local Government Area.

The results were announced late Saturday night by the chairman of the Kogi State Independent Electoral Commission (KSIEC), Mamman Nda Eri, at the commission’s office, which was heavily guarded under tight security.

In an unusual move, the detailed breakdown of votes, including the total number cast and each party’s tally, was not provided.

Instead, Eri simply announced the names of the winners and their respective parties, omitting the vote counts or the number of people who voted.

He explained that the results had been declared by each electoral officer at their respective polling units, and he was merely confirming the field results.

The chairman read the names from a prepared list.

Eri expressed gratitude to the people of Kogi State for their participation, as well as to election observers, security agencies, and KSIEC staff for their contributions to a peaceful election.
