A top European coach believes that Arda Guler has all the qualities required to one day become Ballon d’Or.

Top Turkish coach Fatih Terim is convinced that Real Madrid midfielder Arda Guler will one day become a football legend.

Guler is already making a name for himself with Turkey during the Euro, after finishing his first season with Real in style. He is on the right track and Terim has nothing but compliments for him.

Terim dreams big for Arda Guler

In an interview with O Jogo, the 2000 UEFA Cup winning coach said: “He is still 19 years old, but in possession he is as dominant as the more experienced players. When he left for Spain, I spoke to him: I told him that we were proud of him, that I believed in him a lot and that I wished him success. He always wants to play, it’s very important to plan his career correctly.”

At Real, Guler faces big competition. Terim, however, has no worries about it. “He works with Carlo Ancelotti at Real Madrid, so he is subject to a thorough evaluation. In recent years, players like Tchouaméni, Díaz, Valverde, Camavinga have been integrated into the Real Madrid system. However, I believe that Arda Güler will accelerate this development. It’s exciting to imagine him alongside Mbappé and Vinicius next season.” A nice scenario indeed, but one that might not come to fruition. Real does not rule out selling its jewel on loan.

Terim then concluded by saying that Guler is destined to become “Balloonable” one day: “If he makes good plans for his career and hopefully stays healthy and injury-free, he could showcase his talent and even be a candidate for the Ballon d’Or one day. I’m the first to say it! »
