Arda Guler missed the first six months of the season due to a number of injuries and the reason is finally revealed.

“I understand that there is a lot of pressure on him, because a whole country, Turkey, wants to see him play for Real Madrid, but this boy is 18 years old. His time will come,” Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti said last week about Arda Guler. There is no doubt that we would like to see him at work more often, especially as the Euro in Turkey approaches.

Guler missed the first six months of the season with a number of injuries, picking up two muscle problems, a relapse and undergoing surgery for a knee problem. However, he is finally making appearances in the Los Blancos jersey.

The intensity in question

His injury problems have been a headache for Real Madrid’s medical staff, leading to the head doctor being fired by the club. In Turkey, several media outlets concluded that the reason for Guler’s struggles was related to the intensity of training, as Relevo reported. They also compare his injury problems to those of Yunus Emre Konak, who was injured shortly after joining Brentford from Sivasspor in the summer.

Guler seems to have returned to form and Real Madrid are hoping to go far in the Champions League, which should allow the virtuoso to improve his physical condition before the Euro in Germany. It is highly likely that the young player will have a key role to play, but if he continues to miss playing time, Vincenzo Montella may have to change his plans.
