Actress Malaika Arora lost her father, Anil Mehta on September 11 this year. Following his untimely demise, Malaika Arora and her family organised a prayer meet at a Gurudwara in Santacruz today. The prayer meeting was attended by close family friends including Kareena Kapoor Khan, son Arhaan Khan, Malaika’s mother Joyce Polycarp and ex- boyrfriend Arjun Kapoor.

Malaika Arora’s ex-boyfriend Arjun Kapoor was also seen in the Gurudwara for the prayer meeting.
Malaika Arora’s sister Amrita Arora was also seen leaving the Gurudwara.
About Malaika’s father Anil Mehta’s demise
Malaika Arora’s father, Anil Mehta passed away, after taking his life. He jumped off the balcony of his sixth-floor residence. His wife Joyce Polycarp was at home in their flat as well at Ayesha Manor, Bandra. Meanwhile, Malaika Arora was in Pune, attending to work commitments, unaware of the tragic event that had unfolded. Actor-producer Arbaaz Khan, Malaika’s ex-husband, was the first to arrive at the Arora residence after learning of Anil’s passing.

Malaika Arora’s mother, Joyce Polycarp, is a Malayali Christian, and her father, Anil Arora, was a Punjabi Hindu from the Indian border town of Fazilka. He worked in the Indian Merchant Navy. Malla and her sister Amrita Arora are close to their parents and often celebrate Christmas and other festivals together. In fact, she is often seen sharing pictures with their parents from the celebration on Instagram.
