WWE Bad Blood 2024 opened with an intense Hell in a Cell match, where CM Punk defeated Drew McIntyre in a bloody and brutal battle. CM Punk would stay in the venue after the match and interacted with many legends who were present at the show and that includes Arn Anderson. Anderson has now revealed that Punk even asked him for feedback after his match.
At the Bad Blood Premium Live Event, Cathy Kelley conducted interviews with the night’s three hosts: Naomi and the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions, Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair. As the camera panned through the VIP suite, fans were treated to glimpses of several notable wrestling figures, including former AEW stars Tully Blanchard and Arn Anderson. The two legends were spotted mingling with other wrestling personalities, such as Mickie James, X-Pac, DDP, and even Jey Uso.
While speaking on The Four Horseman Network, Arn Anderson was asked about his backstage interaction with CM Punk. Arn Anderson shared that CM Punk approached him for feedback following his Hell in a Cell match at Bad Blood. Anderson, Tully Blanchard, and Diamond Dallas Page were present in the back after Punk’s brutal fight, captured in a now-classic picture of the four together.
Anderson expressed how humbled he was by Punk’s request for their opinions, noting how significant it was for someone in Punk’s position to seek advice from veterans. He emphasized the value of learning from the generation before and how Punk’s openness to their input showed his deep respect for the wrestling business.
Host: “That classic picture of you, Tully, CM Punk, and DDP together in the back—come on, man—that was right after his brutal fight!”
Arn Anderson: “And the fact that he actually wanted our opinion of what we thought, you know, for a guy in his position, that was very humbling. Well, there’s much to learn about the generation before you. I know I learn something every day. So, the fact that he actually thought it had merit was very humbling, and I’m very appreciative that he looks at the business the way he does.”
As for CM Punk right now, we have reported CM Punk is not expected to be part of the Crown Jewell Premium Live Event on November 2nd, which clarifies why he will be absent. Regardless, CM Punk will always have respect for the veterans who came before him and that’s never changing.
