Liverpool manager Arne Slot has been lucky to inherit such a strong attack after replacing Jurgen Klopp as Reds boss this season, according to Netherlands head coach Ronald Koeman.
Slot got one over fellow Dutchman Erik ten Hag at the weekend, with Liverpool winning 3-0 away to Manchester United, and Koeman was perhaps unsurprisingly asked for his opinion on how his two compatriots are getting on in the Premier League.
Koeman seems to think Slot is doing better at the moment, though it is of course early days for the former Feyenoord boss at Liverpool, while Koeman also pointed out how lucky he is to have inherited such a good front three in particular…
• Arne Slot vs Erik ten Hag, thoughts on that game?
?? – Koeman: "I watched because of the many Dutch players. But of course I also looked at it from a managers point of view, Arne Slot is doing a slightly better job. But if you have the front 3 that he has, you must realize… pic.twitter.com/rpsIg8J8xQ

Ten Hag has had a lot of time now to turn things around at United, but there’s also no doubt that he inherited a much tougher job than Slot has at Anfield.
Klopp left Slot with a really good and confident squad of players, whereas United still have plenty of issues in their team despite a significant amount of spending in the post-Sir Alex Ferguson era, not to mention the huge turnover of players in just over two years under Ten Hag.

For now, Slot looks like a smart appointment by LFC, whereas United fans will be questioning why the club appointed Ten Hag and why they continue to stick with him when other managers have been able to make an impact more quickly at other clubs.
