Arne Slot has fired a warning to his Liverpool players and the club’s fans.

This comes after a 4-0 victory over Spurs at Anfield that ensured they reached Wembley.

It was difficult to know just how well or not Liverpool played on Thursday night, as Spurs were so woeful.

Offering zero threat themselves for almost the entire match, Spurs hung on until the 34th minute when Gazpo scored to make it 1-1 on aggregate, realistically, any hope for the visitors ending there as apart from a 0-0 on the night there was no chance of them going through.

Arne Slot said that this win was probably the most special so far for him with Liverpool, as it meant reaching the League Cup final. I have ever faith that Newcastle United will be far tougher opponents at Wembley and here’s hoping that on 16 March 2025, Arne Slot isn’t saying that he has a new ‘most special’ Liverpool result so far.

“It is special to go there as I know how iconic that stadium is.

“It’s only special if you can win things.

“We know how difficult that’s going to be as Newcastle are an impressive team.

“It’s always nice to play a final.

“We come in every day, we try to improve the team.

“The players try so hard to improve themselves, but in the end, it’s about reaching finals and winning things.

“I think we had some big nights here already, but to reach a final should also be special, and that is what it is.

“So in that perspective it has been the most special evening.”
