The agent of Besiktas forward Semih Kilicsoy says Arsenal and Manchester City are among the clubs keeping tabs on the youngster.

Kilicsoy, 18, broke into Besiktas’ first-team in early 2023 and established himself as one of the most promising young players in Turkish football last season, racking up 11 goals and four assists in the Super Lig.

Last month, Kilicsoy was rewarded with his first senior Turkey call-up and the youngster went on to make his debut as a late substitute in the side’s Euro 2024 warm-up clash with Italy on Tuesday night.

Kilicsoy’s stock is likely to rise further still should he be included in Turkey’s final squad for this summer’s eagerly anticipated tournament in Germany, where he will no doubt be desperate to make an impression.

Despite only breaking through at Besiktas just over 12 months ago, speculation has been mounting that Kilicsoy could soon be destined for bigger and better things, with a host of Europe’s heavyweight teams monitoring the teen.

During a recent interview in Turkey, Kilicsoy named Sergio Aguero as his all-time footballing idol and the attacker could be set to follow in the footsteps of the Argentine legend, according to his agent Murat Teber.

In comments relayed by Sporx, Teber claimed that Manchester City had been keeping a close eye on Kilicsoy’s performances, while also naming Arsenal among the many clubs interested in his client.

‘I know that clubs such as Bayern Munich, Manchester City, Arsenal, Paris Saint-Germain, Monaco, Bayer Leverkusen and Stuttgart are watching Semih.

‘We received information about this.

‘But it has not reached the offer stage. At least, there is no offer that has reached us.’

Teber was, though, keen to stress that Kilicsoy was fully focused on the Turkey andtheir forthcoming European Championships campaign.

‘Semih is a different player at his young age. Therefore, Semih is followed in the five biggest leagues of Europe,’ he added.

‘Of course, Besiktas’ situation is also important here. There is more than one factor.

‘Currently, Semih is only concentrating on the national team. We will look at the situation after the European Championships.’

In addition to those clubs mentioned by Teber, the likes of Fulham, West Ham and Tottenham have also been credited with an interest in Kilicsoy in recent weeks and months.

The sought-after Turkey international is tied into a deal with Besiktas until 2028.
