Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool are among many teams keeping tabs on Nottingham Forest star Murillo as relegation becomes a real possibility for the club.

On Monday, Forest were hit with a four point-deduction for breaching the Premier League’s profit and profitability and sustainability rules.

That has dropped Nuno Espirito Santo’s side into the relegation zone, one point adrift of 17th-placed Luton Town with just nine games to go.

Forest are likely to appeal the penalty but will nevertheless be looking to sell players on in the summer in order to avoid further financial problems.

Among their most prized assets is Murillo, who has impressed since his £15million transfer from Corinthians last summer.

Since moving to the City Ground, the centre-back has started every single league match and four out of Forest’s five FA Cup clashes.

The 21-year-old has a contract until 2028 but how much Forest will be able to sell him for may well depend on if they are able to avoid relegation to the Championship.

But if Murillo were to be put up for sale he would not be short of potential buyers, with the Daily Mail reporting that plenty of Premier League sides and clubs around Europe are interested in his services.

Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Newcastle are ‘monitoring the defender’s progress’, while PSG and Barcelona are also keen.

At least one of Forest’s star players must be sold this summer, with The Times claiming that they need to make about £30m in profit from sales in order to prevent another breach of the relgulations.

Key midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White and striker Taiwo Awoniyi are among the another names that could end up on the transfer-list.
