Girona defender Miguel Gutierrez has been linked with a move away from the Spanish club at the end of the season.

The 22-year-old has been highly impressive for Girona this season and his performances have attracted the attention of the top Premier League clubs. A report from Fichajes claims that Manchester United have made him their priority target and they are determined to secure his services at the end of the season. However, they will face competition from Arsenal who are keen on the defender as well.

It will be interesting to see if the Gunners come forward with an offer to sign the 22-year-old in the coming months. They could certainly use more quality and depth in the left-back department. Gutierez has contributed to 6 assists and a goal this season. He will be expected to compete with Oleksandr Zinchenko for the starting spot next season. Arsenal need to add depth to the left-back department and signing another capable defender to compete with Zinchenko will help the squad improve further.

The 22-year-old is likely to be tempted if clubs like Arsenal come calling. It would be a major step up in his career and he will look to prove himself in the Premier League.

Meanwhile, Manchester United need to bring in a quality left-back as well. Luke Shaw has had his fair share of injury problems and Tyrell Malacia has barely played this season as well. Gutierrez would be a quality long-term addition for the Red Devils.

Arsenal are more likely to secure Champions League qualification at the end of the season and therefore they could have an advantage in the race. Top players will want to join ambitious teams and the 22-year-old might prefer to join a club in the Champions League next season.
