Arsenal are keen on the Manchester City striker Julian Alvarez this summer.

According to the Mirror, Manchester City would be prepared to let the striker leave if he is keen on an exit this summer. The defending champions will demand a fee of around £80 million for the Argentine international and it remains to be seen whether Arsenal are ready to pay up.

The Gunners need a quality striker to lead the line for them. Gabriel Jesus scored four goals in the league last season, and the Gunners cannot hope to win the league title with him leading the line for them.

Alvarez on the other hand has been exceptional for Manchester City, even though he is not a regular start for them. He scored 19 goals in all competitions last season and picked up 13 assists along the way.

Alvarez played a key role in his country winning Copa America earlier this summer as well.

The 24-year-old is a phenomenal talent with a bright future and he needs to play regularly. A move away from Manchester City would be ideal for him. Arsenal could provide him with the platform he needs right now.

Julian Alvarez would have improved Arsenal

Alvarez could transform Arsenal in the final third. The Gunners missed out on the title in the last two seasons and they will hope to go all the way this time around. Someone like Alvarez could make a huge difference for them going forward.

His ability to slot into multiple attacking roles will be an added bonus as well. His arrival will allow Mikel Arteta to rotate his squad more often. It remains to be seen whether Arsenal are prepared to pay £80 million for him. There is no doubt that the Gunners have the financial muscle to pay a premium, but they need to improve the other areas of their squad as well.
